Leave It All

Keep leaving your shoe
under my green stool

Keep leaving your conditioner
in my shower

Because I know
you have to
come back for those

Keep leaving your hand lotion
beside my bed

Keep leaving your lingerie
between my sheets

I need
to be able
to remember
your smell

Keep leaving love letters
on my pillow

Keep leaving hairs
in my sink

Keep leaving hair pins
in my soap dish

They remind me
that you're not
just a wonderful figment
of my imagination

Keep leaving everything
and anything
so that you don't

really leave
at all

Just a quickie

I've been wanted to post a new blog but ideas and thoughts and time and life all got in the way.

Not that I'm complaining.

Anything that I was supposed to write on here will eventually be written or shown.
So I'm not too worried about that.

But I thought I'd come on and do a little quick free writing.

Just to get me more settled into the blog.

Its like preparing a new baseball glove for the big games.
It's got to be broken in.
I hear some people use vasoline and mink oil.
But you've got to give it some punches to soften and form before you're ready to take it onto the field.

So heres some fine saddle soap to break in with.

My life is pretty amazing.
I love when I can step outside and look at it.
I look at the things I stress and worry about. And how lucky I am to have things that bother and distress - me be so minor.
"Oh gee, the battery in my camera is dead. Poor me. Thats just so terrible. Its the end of the world. What am i going to do?"
Things that I think are SO terrible at the time, but I wont even remember the next day.

WON'T EVEN REMEMBER!

And the terrible things that I do remember, and have some significance in my life, I can now look back at as beautiful.

Tragedy isn't a constant unless you let it be.

I think of others who aren't so lucky. Others who are constantly reminded.

And though I don't remember all the hard times, I still remember to carry extra batteries.

A New Start

This feels good. A brand new blog.

Yes, this place seems pretty comfortable. I have a little spot for everything - Poetry, Pictures, Videos, Stories, and whatever nick-nacks I pick up along my path.

Theres nothing like a blank page. So many possibilities.

I remember hearing somewhere, that there are two ways to look at a blank sheet. You can look at it as just that - a blank space, or as the greatest opportunity in the world because nobody's put anything on it. To go ahead and use it to dream, create new things and let your imagination go. Everything has to start somewhere...so I will start everything right here.

I hope to bring back some of the posts from my old blog, maybe on those days when I'm lacking in inspiration. It'll be like one of those sitcom episodes where they show clips from past episodes when the writers get lazy...I really hate those ones.

And how fitting a day to start my blog, the 5th of November - Guy Fawkes Day. Yes, maybe I watch too many movies, but V For Vendetta is a movie that touched me like no other. Maybe it was the timing, maybe it was charming voice of Hugo Weaving, or my schoolboy crush on Natalie Portman. I think what really got to me, was seeing the way the world was moving, and comparing it to the film. My realization of having forgotten the true meaning of freedom, and acknowledging the power of money and government has over the people today. This year I even commemorated Guy Fawkes with a Halloween pumpkin.

There is something else that is special about this November 5th however. For the past while I've been following the 2008 presidential campaign of congressman Ron Paul. I've taken great interest in this man for many reasons.

1) The of shrinking the US federal government

2)Abolishing the USA Patriot Act

3)Getting rid of the IRS

4)Most importantly - pulling out of Iraq and making a big change in America's vile foreign policy.

Although I don't agree his views on anti-abortion, and although he doesn't really have much of a plan for the environment, I still feel it would be in the best interest of Americans, Canadians...hell everyone, to have Ron Paul elected for president. I'm also a big fan of Dennis Kucinich on the Democratic side, but a win for him would be impossible at this point in time. I feel Ron Paul has a chance.

The past few weeks there has been many videos on Youtube promoting donations to be made to his campaign today. It is 8:25pm and he has already taken in $3.8 Million dollars. I went in there to made a donation earlier, but unfortunately you have to be a US citizen to do so. Probably a good thing...I'm a bit short on funds at the moment. But this really is an amazing demonstration of just how powerful his message has been. I can't wait to see what happens in the months to come. I never thought I would become interested in politics, nevermind American politics. But the way things are going these days, and the impact it has on Canada, I think it's important to pay attention and make as much of an impact as I can for my beliefs.

Hello My Angel

Hello my angel.

I had a long talk with god tonight.

He told me you were one of my angels. He said that everyone who crosses your path in life is an angel.
But he said that you were one of mine to call my own.

He said angels are different than guides.

We take care of each other, whether we know it or not.

He said that our time travels at the exact same time.

And we see colors the same way.

He said that when we die, our deaths wont be far apart, maybe even a day or two, because it would be a shame to not know a world without one of your angels in it...especially one you hold so close to your heart. He wants us not to fear it. He wants us to love our life. And embrace the good and bad as it comes, because we'll go through it together.
For each other.
And with each other.

He said we wont always understand each other, but we'll always know we're on the same path together.

He said that there aren't many people who think like us. And that we're a very rare breed. He says its a gift from him for us to know that.

He says that when people as rare as us find each other, its a miracle. It doesn't happen everyday.

He said I will find 12 more angels.
or was it 8?
could've been 33

He told me I would forget the number if he told me.
Because its not something I'm supposed to remember.

Could only be 2...
But 49 also comes to mind for some reason.

I'm not supposed to know because they're just supposed to happen.
And the more I look for them, the longer and harder it will be for them to find me.

He said you're my angel, because no matter how crazy I think I am, you'll always know I'm just me, and you'll love me for that.

And instead of searching for a rainbow on every rainy day, that we will just live at the end of it, and not even know the rainbow existed in the first place.

He said he doesn't let many things live at the end of the rainbow. But because our hearts are so pure, and our minds are so wide, that we get the special treatment.

He hooks me up with the front row tickets to any view I want.

But I have to REALLY want it.

Do you know what its like to really want something?

I do

I do

There is always true need in life.
And true want.
He said that if we stick together, that we'll always have both.

He said that when we were trees a few lives ago, that we grew next to each other. Thats when we first met, and became aware of each other. And ever since then, we've been wanting to meet in every life, and in every form.

What do you what to be next time?
A humming bird?
Characters in a children's book?
A Sploob from the planet Spork?
or how bout those clouds that looks like lovers on a bicycle.
Yes I think I'd like to come back as that.
We'd only exist as long as that imaginative thought stayed alive.
It would be short, but i think it would be a really good trip.

You can choose the next one, I promise.

Goodnight my angel.

a day in my eyes

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I drove down to the used bookstore looking for some answers
Had a good feeling I'd find what I needed
Some poetry to read while bathing my sore body
And now I have it sitting here damp on my table
Heres to another word for the universe

I can't belive how much stuff we have

Later on a seabus ride
A spontanious decision
I found my place
Sat next to a man painting a potrait of his girlfriend
I said I Haven't been on this boat since 1995
He said I hope you do it more often

Why does carving your name give you that sense of immortality?

Then walking down the downtown streets
I spot a shop window
With the perfect dress
For this girl on my mind

A visit to one of my favorite spots in the city
The Granville bridge
Not many views compare to that one
Cars driving to the sky
And the market down below
Take a look the next time you pass by

I live for a perfect view

Each and every day
I like to face a challenge
Tom & Jerry's 1.5lb burger looked like a good apponent
Menu said if I eat it all, the meal is free

So I sit down to a man named Stan
As i take on todays challenge
A black man from San Diego
Here to do some business
Told me about the Navy
And I told him where to visit
Recommended a place to catch some wicked jazz
And got some life advice

To finish my day
A walk with my dog Maggie
Remembered the ball chucker, so my hands were slobber free
A sunset framed up our perfect outing
We tire each other out
Every time

Watching the final light out side, while my rice was cooking
A hawk in my backyard tree watches while I drink my tea
But the damn crows, they always come to chase him
God, i love to watch that huge bird fly.

more random writing and questions to myself

Dear myself,
And anyone else reading...

You'll sometimes get what you want,
You might get what you pray for,
You may get what you wish,
And you'll usually get what you need...
But you better hope to hell you don't get what you deserve.

If I learn how to juggle,
Will that help me improve my multi tasking?
I took a circus class once
But didn't really catch onto the juggling.
I DID learn how to use stilts...
However I don't see how that can help improve my day to day life...
Except for making me feel shorter...
....fuck stilts

I love the spring.
Time for reading poems in the streets,
Shopping in bare feet,
And castles in the sand.

I dig it.

I got a message on here the other day,
From a girl who gave me a ride home from a party 4 years ago.
I didn't remember her at all.
Not one bit.
I couldn't remember the party,
I couldn't remember her name,
I couldn't remember her face,
Nothing.
I felt horrible.
And ungrateful.
Although I'm sure i was completely grateful at the time.
She even remembers exactly where I lived.
....
..
......maybe it was my brother she gave the ride to!!!
Yep that must be it!
I'm not going to feel bad anymore.

Are tie-dyed t-shirts hip?

I got some great advice from Victor Miles.
He told me to marry a woman with good eye sight,
So when you're old and blind she can still drive you home...
...and you can get as wasted as you want at any event.
Thanks Victor.

I think you should also marry a woman who doesn't plan on giving her kids any silly names.
That should be a first date question.
Middle names can be anything though.
Isn't it tradition to have an embarrassing middle name?
....or am I the only one to get fucked over?

The best thing about easter, is the week after easter.
When ALLL the mini eggs go on sale.
Time to stock up.

Heres a lesson for the kids.
When you're the only one who has mini eggs in December,
You're king of the jungle.
And people will do things for you.

I have much respect for the first people to step out on a dance floor.

I wish I were typing these blogs on a typewriter.
But I guess that wouldn't work.
It be very writery of me though...wouldn't it?
But I guess a real writer wouldn't use words like writery.
....maybe i should start writing these in a starbucks...
So then people can watch me write and say to themselves
"oooh look at the writer sitting there drinking his coffee looking all writery with his laptop, in this starbucks, like all the other wannabe writers do"
....yeah

I think all movies should show bloopers at the end of them.

Thats all.

Yours truly,
Yourself and I
